The Tower Theatre, Auditorium seating plan

A former garrison church seating nearly 300 people, with a licensed bar, a 60-space car park, and a fully equipped stage — The Tower Theatre has rather more to offer than its modest exterior might suggest.

Auditorium

The main auditorium seats 293 guests, with four designated wheelchair spaces in the front row. The original architecture of the building lends itself surprisingly well to performance — sightlines are good throughout, and the acoustics have long been a talking point among visiting companies. A seating plan is available here.

Foyer and Bar

The foyer and bar is a generous space in its own right — large enough to hold up to 300 standing or 120 seated at tables. The fully licensed bar is open before performances, during the interval, and after the show, and the foyer is available for private hire independently of the main auditorium. Men’s, women’s, and accessible toilets are all located within the foyer.

Backstage & Box Office

Behind the main stage is an extensive storage and workshop area, used by FHODS for set construction and production storage. Full lighting and sound equipment is available, and the box office operates an electronic ticketing system for seamless entry.

Parking and Access

The theatre has a floodlit tarmac car park with 60 spaces, plus additional grass parking for around 15 vehicles in good weather. Further roadside parking is available on Royal Military Avenue, directly opposite the theatre gates. A bus stop on North Road serves the venue, and level entry from the car park to the foyer — via a dropped kerb — makes the building accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility needs. The venue is also service dog-friendly.
