FAQs – Events

Any events with an age limit due to the nature of the content of the event will be publicised with the appropriate age limit or cinema classification. If you are unsure about any event and its age limit, please contact the venue.

As a general rule children and adolescents under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The accompanying person must have a valid ticket for the event. Children under 6 years only have access to the venue if they are accompanied by an adult at any time.

For some events, the promoter may determine stricter rules. It’s best to check the event page before purchasing a ticket or to contact our box office (phone: 01303 223925 or email: office@towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk).

You can find all confirmed events for The Tower Theatre here.

If an event is not listed in our event calendar, it has not been confirmed.

Unfortunately, no. Meet & Greets are only available at selected events and are organised by the promoter. Usually, Meet & Greets will be sold or given away in competitions prior to the show.

Yes, usually you can hand your letter or present to the staff at the entrance. We will arrange for it to be taken to artist management.

Usually, the support act is announced shortly before a show. We recommend checking the event page on our website prior to the show or visiting our Facebook page. You can also contact our box office (phone: 01303 223925).

FAQs – Your visit

Guests are permitted to take one small bag/handbag with them which does not exceed the size of “A4” (21.0 x 29.7cm).

Depending on the event, the respective promoter of the show may determine even stricter rules. We recommend checking the respective event page beforehand or look for updates on our Facebook page.

There is very limited storage capacity for bags that exceed the allowed size limit. If you arrived in your car please leave your bag in the car.

Usually, doors open 60 minutes before the show starts. The time will also be on your ticket or on the respective event page. Please note that entry to the venue will only be granted with a valid ticket. For an auditorium event your tickets will be checked at the doors to the auditorium. For foyer (The Peter Heselden Bar) events your tickets will be checked at the main entrance.

It’s best to get to the venue as early as possible so you have enough time to get through the foyer/bar and find your seat. If you come by car, give yourself plenty of time for parking. We’ll get you in as quickly and safely as we can, but the car parks can fill up quickly on an event day. Arriving early usually means you avoid the big queues and can get seated faster.

Event times can change, sometimes on short notice, so make sure you check the event page for the latest info. For some events, you can’t enter until a suitable break in the performance.

Guests may not bring any food and/or beverage items into The Tower Theatre. Exceptions are made for customers with specific dietary needs due to medical conditions. Nourishments for infants and young children are allowed as well.

Unless otherwise stated (on signs by the doors; an announcement in the foyer prior to the doors opening; or by an announcement by the performer(s) on stage) all photography and filming is strictly prohibited. Should we announce any of the above is permitted for a particular event please ensure your flash is turned off so as to not disturb the performer(s).

Should you be found taking photographs or filming, when permission has not been given by the above means, you may be asked to delete any photographs/footage on your device. Failure to follow the instructions of the ushers/Duty Manager may result in you being removed from the venue.

Tablets, laptops / notebooks, tripods and so-called “selfie sticks” are not allowed at  The Tower Theatre. Small powerbanks are okay to bring.

Powerbanks are allowed – max. size 10×10 cm and only one powerbank per person. Please do not bring extra batteries.

This depends on the event, promoter and/or artist management. For most events, posters are NOT allowed. Please don’t bring larger quantities of paper, wallpaper rolls, confetti, etc. either. If you are unsure about the poster rules for a certain event, please contact us via e-mail,

Free ear plugs are available at every event. Just ask our staff at the box office.

If something is wrong, please talk to our staff on site so we can help you. We have ushers seated at every door during the performance and the Duty Manager will be in the foyer at all times. We want you to have a great time at the event, so come and see us. We may be able to sort something. It’s hard for us to do that after the event. First Aiders are on duty at every event if you have a medical issue.

FAQs – Tickets

Please find all details on buying tickets here.

The Tower Theatre is a fully accessible venue. Please check this page for more information and how to purchase tickets.

Tickets

We welcome payment by credit/debit card free of charge. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The Folkestone-Hythe Operatic & Dramatic Society‘ or simply ‘FHODS‘. Cash in person at the Box Office – please do not send cash in the post.

Bar / Snacks

We welcome payment by cash credit/debit card free of charge.

Merchandise

If we are selling the merchandise ourselves (FHODS show or the Christmas Panto) we welcome cash and credit/debit card. If it is an outside company you need to speak to the person manning the merchandise stand.

There is a £1.00 fee for all bookings (this is per booking, not per ticket). This will be applied at checkout when ordering through our website and when booking in person.

Therefore if tickets are £10.00 each and you purchase four, you will pay £41.00 (4 x £10.00, + £1.00)

If an event has been postponed to a later date, previously purchased tickets usually remain valid, so you don’t need to do anything. If you can’t make it to the new date or a show has been cancelled, tickets can usually be returned at the box office and either a credit note will be issued to you or a refund.

Unfortunately all ticket sales a non-refundable unless the event has been cancelled or postponed.

In extenuating circumstances, at the Box Office Manager’s discretion, you may get a credit note or refund but this is not guaranteed. The Box Office Manager’s decision is final. Contact the Box Office at 01303 223925 or email office@towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk.

Every visitor, regardless of age, needs a valid ticket to attend an event. Please check with our ticketing team for more information: 01303 223925 or office@towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk.

If you have purchased your ticket from an official website, such as www.towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk or our ticket agent thelittleboxoffice.com, or our ticket hotline, there is no need to worry about the validity of your ticket. If you buy tickets from unofficial agents or websites, they could be fake, stolen or invalid, and you will not be able to get into the arena with one of those tickets. Never buy tickets from anyone outside the venue and never pay more than the face value of the seat.

The Tower Theatre does NOT endorse using ANY secondary ticketing sources (i.e. “scalpers” online or in-person). Our ticket office cannot resolve any issues involving lost or fake tickets. Tickets for all shows are sold through our ticketing agent thelittleboxoffice.com/towertheatrefolkestone online or in-person at The Tower Theatre box office. The Tower Theatre has the right to change/cancel ticket transactions that are suspected of being purchased for the sole purpose of reselling. If you do experience any issues with tickets and/or sellers, please contact the box office.

This is at the discretion of our Box Office Manager. Contact 01303 223925 or email office@towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk for information.

Sold out doesn’t always mean sold out! Here’s what you can do:

Visit our What’s On page and check whether the show is really sold out. Sometimes, there may be one or two random seats left. If there are no more tickets, contact our Box Office to get notified in case more tickets are released.

You can call our Box Office at 01303 223925.

Sometimes, there are still some tickets left at face value that are not available online.

We will send an email confirmation with your tickets included, you can download your tickets and save them onto your phone, or you may choose to print at home.

When you arrive at the theatre all you need to do is show us your tickets on your smart phone or show us your printed tickets.

If you could ensure that your phone screen is bright this would help our FOH volunteers view your tickets quickly.

If you are unable to use a smartphone to download your tickets, or unable to print your tickets at home, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to pick up physical tickets from the Box Office.

If you have lost your e-tickets or your printed version, just email office@towertheatrefolkestone.co.uk so we can help.

Your tickets can also either be sent to you (postage charge is 80p) or can be collected in person from the Box Office.

We are currently running a special offer if you buy ten tickets you only pay for nine. Contact the Box Office for more information.

When you book tickets at The Tower Theatre you provide us with some basic personal information in order for us to process your booking.

At the time of your booking we will also ask you if you wish to receive information about forthcoming productions and events at The Tower Theatre. If you provide your consent, then we will occasionally contact you with this information. We will not share your details with anyone beyond The Tower Theatre for marketing purposes, nor will we pass your information onto third parties except to facilitate our mailing to you.

We will offer you the opportunity to opt out of future mailings at every contact, either by email or by contacting our Box Office on 01303 223925.
